Vedic astrology is not something I took up. It is the house I grew up in.
My grandfather, Pandit Hardev Sharma Trivedi, was a Jyotishacharya in Solan. He played an instrumental role in fixing the time and muhurat for India's independence in 1947. More than eighty years ago he began the Shri Vishwavijay Panchang, an annual almanac that has been part of Hindu households ever since. He also founded Jyotishmati Niketan, the family publishing house that prints it to this day.
I started learning astrology and Panchangkarita, the craft of almanac-making, in the Guru Parampara tradition in my early childhood. I have more than twenty-five years of academic experience in astrology, and over sixteen years of practice as a consultant astrologer. In that time I have given more than twenty thousand consultations to people in India and abroad. Alongside my own practice, I serve as Assistant Editor of Shri Vishwavijay Panchang and teach Vedic Jyotish at Joytish Academy.
The work I do belongs to the Maha Rishi Prashar school, the classical system of Vedic astrology that traces back to the sage Parashara. It reads a birth chart as a map of time: which periods of life carry ease, which carry effort, and when events are most likely to take shape.
This is a careful, text-rooted method. It rests on the position of the planets at your birth, the houses they govern, their strengths and aspects, and the dashas, the planetary periods that move a life forward. None of it is guesswork. It is read, weighed, and checked.
Before we speak, I study your chart on my own. When we meet, I can give you my time and attention, not spend it doing the reading in front of you.
I will tell you plainly what the chart shows. Where it points to a good period, I will say so. Where it asks for caution, I will say that too, but gently and clearly, and always with a remedy or a sensible way forward. People often come to an astrologer carrying worry. My work is to bring some calm to that, not to add to it. I do not frighten anyone, and I do not promise what a chart cannot give.
If you are deciding whether to book a consultation, here is the practice in a few lines. For anything else, you are welcome to call or write.
Book a consultationThe Shri Vishwavijay Panchang has been read in Hindu households for more than eighty years. The same care that goes into the almanac goes into every chart I read.
My grandfather, a Jyotishacharya of Solan. He founded the Shri Vishwavijay Panchang and Jyotishmati Niketan, and was recognised by the A.B. Jyotish Parishad as its Chief President.
The reading of charts has been part of my family for many generations. The method, the discipline, and the standard of honesty have stayed the same.
