Astrology and Chaos Theory: A scientific viewpoint.
Let's try and understand Jyotish or Vedic Astrology, in a logical and scientific light.
Vedic astrology or Jyotish is the science for predictions for certain systems.
A system is a set of all permutations and combinations of action and reaction cycles of all interacting bodies and forces.
Prediction is simply a determination of the future state of any given system.
A system can be simple, complex, or chaotic.
Reaction to all given actions in simple and complex systems can be determined by established laws of physics and mathematics.
Every simple and complex "action-reaction sequence set" can be mapped down and explained with mathematics.
Examples of simple and complex systems are the swing of pendulum projectile path of cannon ball, single-body and two-body problems, and even many systems of life sciences and biology.
Few systems have sensitive dependence on initial variables which makes them chaotic.
A Weather system is an example of a chaotic system where slight variance due to any disturbance can cause massive variance in the predicted results - commonly known as - "The Butterfly Effect".
Sensitive dependence on initial variables makes it impossible to make accurate weather forecasts for more than 10-15 days.
A minor micro phenomenon can cause massive variances in the predicted pattern, in just over a few days. A concept is very well known to metrologists.
Many other systems are known to be chaotic due to sensible dependence on initial variables.
Very small changes in the starting position of a chaotic system can make big and disproportionate differences after a few cycles.
The human mind and many other functions of our body, life, and behavior are as well considered to be chaotic systems.
Let's study the Chaos of the Human Mind with a simple example.
We react differently to the same situation at different stamps of times. I may react with a smile when someone spills coffee on my shirt on a given day and I might react angrily on a different day.
Our response or reaction to any given stimulus change is directly a function of our "the then" state of our mind.
"The-then" state of our mind is always an instantaneous state and is sum total of collective cognitive experience of life to date.
An instant state of mind, controlled or defined by baggage, also creates inertia, which manifests as our inclination or intuitive/impulsive reaction/response towards a particular situation.
This makes reaction sensitively dependent on initial variables - thus a Chaotic system.
To understand the above, consider this example.
A long and bad day at work might make you react ANGRILY if someone spills coffee on your shirt while a good day can still make you smile.
Jyotish or Vedic astrology is the mathematical model to predict or determine the future state for many Chaotic Systems such as the human mind, human social behaviors, many other life events and patterns, weather cycles, natural phenomenons, and even cognitive behavior of societies, etc.
Native astrology or "Jatak Jyotish" deals with a mathematical model for the prediction or accurate determination of the future state of a chaotic system of the human mind and experiences driven by cognitive behavior.
Whereas, Mundane astrology or medina Jyotish deals with accurate determination or predictions for a chaotic system involving a group of people or masses.
It also deals with natural calamities, stock markets, international diplomacy, and societal behavior of the masses.
Vedic astrology or jyotish is capable to predict the nature and timings of cognitive result of any action or decision ( karma) which one takes at any given time in life.
Astrology is the torch which helps us find water in a dark room with ease.
This torch helps you maneuver your way around obstructions & take the path of least resistance. Joytish is the exact same torch for life.
That's why vedic literature termed jyotish as 'eyes of veda'.
Jyotish has nothing to do with destiny!
There is no logical scope or requirement of the man-made concept of destiny, as it is contrsdictory and paradoxical to the Karm Siddhant or Free Will.
Karm Siddhant simply says that only our actions determine the future or even vice versa which is that future is only dependent on actions, Thereby, by deduction logic, there is no scope for concept of destiny.
Kismat, a Turkish word, is a political and ideological brainwash.
You step up a destination as per your desire - Our karm.
We start the pursue - Our karm.
Now weather and how we reach destination is also only dependent on karms.
No scope of destiny again!
Kismat or Destiny is a Ottoman and Turkish concepts.
Vedic literature only talks about karm.
What you sow is what you reap.
Jesa karm karoge wesa bhogoge.
Geeta ka saar hai karm siddhant.
Karam Siddhant or "Free will" is the essence of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita.
Many argue that with evolutionary experience we have learnt that we are mortals thus death can be infered as destiny.
No - This is not how we logically deduce.
Death can be inferred as unavoidable reality & not as destiny because nature and timings of death is karm dependent.
We all are bound by aging and death but it does not mean that timing of death or the death itself is destiny.
Think about this - If my horoscope has Dirgh Ayu or long longevity yog, then will I not die if I jump off from 11th floor?
Offcourse I will due to this stupid karm.
Deat can only be considered as destiny by a radical suicide bomber.
Vedic Sanatan Dharam has no place for such an idiotic concepts as destiny, which can't stand the test of logic.
We accepted this scam because destiny gives us an easy escapist route.
Blame everything on destiny!
Please don't confuse yourself.
Remember, it was not the destiny but the Karm of Pandavs and Kauravs because of which they all went through what they all went through.
Be it victory in war, death, fame or exhile.
Jyotish or Vedic Astrology is mathematical solution to chaotic systems.
