#MenstrualCycle #Menstrual #Myth #Adulteration #Myth In Indian society
In Indian society (Before invasion from Middle East) Men and Women were equally positioned in domestic setup with individual duties. Majorly, men took the job of farming, trading, hunting etc whereas Women took role and duties of house management. This can be accounted for biological differences in the evolution of two genders. Women experience biological conditions during menstrual and pregnancy cycle which can cause muscle cramps , mood swings and body ache. Women’s role to look after house management was considered and regarded as a highly priced and fatigue-oriented job. Thus, they were rewarded with 3-5 days of complete rest during menstrual cycle. They were rewarded break from their kitchen and temple duties to allow their body to recover. Over centuries, after invasion of Lodhi and Mughal tyrants, this “Reward” was adulterated into “Prohibition”. We need to bounce to original tradition. This was a “Reward” and not a “Prohibition”. Menstrual cycle does not make any women impure or jinxed, it only makes her physically and emotionally less active! Not allowing women from entering kitchen or temple is stupidity. It shall be the other way around, which is rewarding women during periods. The reward would be , Men taking up house hold duties when women are down.
